There's nothing quite like being out on the water on a hot summer day, paddleboarding with the sun on your face and the wind in your hair. But even the most experienced paddleboarders can find themselves taking a tumble into the water from time to time. And that's OK! Staying on your paddleboard is a bit easier with a an extra stable board like the All-around Diatom Ten6. But there are some benefits to falling in while paddleboarding. Here's what you need to know.

The Water Is Not Your Enemy

One of the first things that people tend to think when they fall into the water while paddleboarding is "oh no, I'm going to drown!" But that's not really true. Unless you're caught in a rip current or you have some other complicating factor, falling into the water while paddleboarding is not going to be dangerous. In fact, it can actually be pretty fun! The key is to keep your head above water and relax, which is easy to do with a high quality PFD or life jacket like the Mustang Survival Khimera PFD

It May Be a Bit Cold...

Depending on where you're paddleboarding, the water temperature may be a bit cold at first. But don't worry, you'll warm up quickly once you start moving around. If you're worried about the cold, you can always wear a wetsuit or some other type of wet weather gear to stay warm.

You'll Warm Up Pretty Quickly

Even if you do find yourself feeling a bit chilly at first, don't worry—you'll warm up soon enough. Once you start paddling around and getting your heart rate up, your body will adjust to the temperature of the water, and you'll be feeling fine in no time.

It Just Means That You're Learning

When you fall off your paddleboard and into the water, it doesn't mean that you're a bad paddleboarder—it just means that you're still learning. Practice makes perfect, so don't be afraid to get back out there and try again. You might even want to practice getting back on your board from in the water so that you're prepared if it happens when you're out on the lake or river. Getting back onto your board is super easy with some extra grab handles like the ones on the versatile Infinite Mantra

Nobody's Perfect

Like we said before, even experienced paddleboarders find themselves taking a dip in the water from time to time. So, if it happens to you, don't worry—you're in good company! Paddleboarding is a great way to enjoy being out on the water and get some exercise, so get out there and give it a try. Just remember to relax and have fun!
